I'm a web developer, and I've been one for more than fifteen years. Most of that time I've worked freelance, on large web applications and on smaller sites, usually on the front end: the part people see and use. I like teams where people can speak their mind. A project goes well when the software stays in service of the person on the other side of the screen.
I want the internet to be a place that empowers people. Too much of it is built to make them addicted. Endless recommendation feeds, short videos that start the next one on their own, layouts and buttons that steer you toward someone else's goal. You arrive to do one thing. The page is arranged so your attention never quite comes back to you.
Sedo is the browser I'm building so that can change. It removes the recommendation feed beside a video, blocks short-form video, and puts a limit on endless scroll. Other protection mechanisms are being constructed. Your attention stays yours. You get to use the internet for what you actually came to do.
The browser is still under construction. If this is the internet you want too, help me make it a reality.
